What happens to what it hears.
Echo is useful because it listens to your working conversations. Here is what that involves.
- What Echo captures
- Your microphone and your computer’s audio, during meetings you start Echo on. In person, the microphone only. Echo listens from your device, so the meeting is just the people you invited.
- What else it reads
- Meeting titles, times and attendees from a calendar you connect, read-only. Participant names and who is speaking, where the meeting app shows them. A capture of your screen only when you ask for one.
- What you give it
- Notes you type, files you attach or import, the Notion pages you pick, and your conversations with Echo.
- Where it’s processed
- In the cloud, by speech-to-text and AI providers. They are named in Echo’s privacy policy.
- Training
- Skillflo doesn’t train AI models on your content.
- Encryption
- In transit, and at rest in Echo’s cloud. Stored integration credentials get an extra layer of encryption.
- What we keep
- Transcripts and notes, until you delete the meeting. Audio is recorded by default and kept according to your setting: keep it, delete it per meeting, or have it deleted once the transcript is confirmed. You can turn recording off. Your conversations with Echo are kept separately from your meetings; you can delete a conversation in the app.
- Deleting
- A deleted meeting waits in trash for 30 days, or is removed immediately if you choose. Deleting your account starts a 30-day grace period in which you can restore it; after that, your account and its meetings are permanently deleted.
- Calendar and Notion
- Calendar access is read-only. In Notion, Echo reads only the pages you pick. Disconnect either and the stored token is deleted.
- Sharing
- A meeting is yours until it is shared. You choose who, and whether they get the notes, the transcript, or the right to ask Echo about it, and you can take it back. If your organization turns on default sharing, your meetings are shared with your teams and managers automatically, and an admin can extend it to past meetings. You can mark any meeting Private.
- Skillflo Hire
- Linking a meeting to Skillflo Hire shares its notes with your Hire workspace. Unlinking withdraws them.
- Telling people
- Tell the people you meet that you’re taking notes with an AI assistant, and get the consent your law requires.
- Reporting a problem
- hello@skillflo.ai. We read every report.
Questions
Do the people I’m talking to know it’s there?
Only if you tell them, so tell them. Say at the start that you’re taking notes with an AI assistant, and get the permission your local law requires before you record.
Which meeting apps does it work with?
Echo listens to your computer’s audio rather than connecting to a meeting service. Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams are the ones it’s built around. On Windows you may need to tell Echo which speaker your meeting app is using. For conversations in person, it uses the microphone.
Do I need to connect my calendar?
No, but it helps. With Google or Outlook calendar connected, read-only, Echo knows what’s next and shows the brief on its home screen in the hour before. Without it, start Echo yourself when the call begins.
What languages does it handle?
English, Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hindi and Indonesian. Leave it on automatic and Echo follows a switch between languages mid-call, or choose the ones you expect. Accuracy varies with the language and the audio, so try it on your own calls before you rely on it.
